Clubhouse Vol. 1 · Bulletin #4 · Wrapped Up Tighter Than A Phone Cord

Howdy Friend! Welcome to the Clubhouse. The Cord Always Knew Before We Did!

📣 Your stomach gets an entirely new lining every few days
📣 Somewhere right now, somebody still owns a cassette labeled “DO NOT TAPE OVER”

🚨 CLUBHOUSE ALARM!

📣 In the 1980s, Pizza Hut used to give kids personal pan pizzas for reading books
📣 Velcro was inspired by burrs sticking to a dog’s fur
📣 ….What happens if you leave your phone outside the bedroom for one night? Science may occur. 🛌😴
📣 And somehow… you still think you’re “just an average person”

🎖️ Official Clubhouse Rad Mates

🏆Y'all. Can we just stop for a second? 🛑

Alright… I gotta pause right here because a couple of y’all didn’t just write ✍️back… you brought the whole clubhouse to life.

One’s shootin’ hoops, one’s bringin’ the soundtrack… and just like that, we’ve got official Clubhouse Rad Mates.

Duane came in with this line that stopped me in my tracks:
I can sit by a fire 🔥and watch the flames and be content.”

I don’t know why that hit so hard… but it did. In a world that’s constantly buzzin’, scrollin’, dingin’, and demandin’… that kind of quiet contentment feels almost rare. He went on talkin’ about ridin’ bikes 🚴to the creek, metal slides 🛝, no phones, no noise… just bein’ a kid with one job: have fun and be home before the streetlights came on. And then he said somethin’ I don’t think we hear enough anymore… “To me it is still the simple things in life that are the best.
That’s not just nostalgia… that’s wisdom earned the long way.

And then Kathy rolls in with this picture I can see clear as day:
Just a goal nailed into a tree & no cement pad. Just a dirt patch… I wonder how many games of 🏀 Horse we played!!!” You can hear the ball hittin’ that rim. You can feel the dust kickin’ up under your feet. Love it! 🥰

And after last week's letter? Kathy put her phone away until morning. 📵 We need to know how that turned out!

She didn't just read it. She did something about it. That is Rad Mate energy at its absolute finest.

Careful… keep this up and I’m gonna have to keep handin’ out these Rad Mate badges. And I don’t give those out lightly. 😄

📬 DEAR DIARY 📖 … From the Clubhouse ✍️

Pretty sure I didn’t mean for it to get this complicated. 🤷‍♀️

☎️ You ever stretch a phone cord so far it looked like it was about to snap… and somehow that’s exactly what your life feels like right now? 😁

I’m talking about that old kitchen phone 📞, the one bolted to the wall like it paid rent. You’d pick it up real casual, “Hey! Whatcha doin’? …” and the next thing you know, you’re halfway down the hallway, one foot 👟 in the pantry, leaning against the wall, twisting that cord around your finger like you’re making a friendship bracelet.

And that cord… bless its heart, it’s been through it. Wrapped around your wrist, looped through your elbow, twisted so tight 😐 it looked like it was holding family secrets. You didn’t mean for all that to happen. You just wanted to talk. 🗣️ Just wanted to connect. 🧑🤝👩Just wanted to laugh about something dumb that happened. But somewhere between “Hey, what are you doing?” and “Ok I gotta go…”and you never actually go… you got tangled.

And here’s the thing,… we still do that. Daily! Do you agree? Is this you?! It’s definitely me! 🥴 Some days I don’t even realize I’m wrapped up until I’m already tired for no good reason. Not with the cool phone cords, but with everything else.

We start something small. Your time gets stretched too. One more video. One more scroll. One more “I’ll go to bed after this.” And your energy gets pulled in every direction like a dog 🐩 that just saw three squirrels and a mail 📬 truck. And just like that old phone cord, you’re not just holding it anymore… it’s holding you. Life is now soooo dizzy! 😵‍💫

Think about it! Back then, if you stretched that cord too far, you for sure felt it. That little pull. That tension. Like a quiet voice saying, “Ma’am / Sir … you’ve reached your limit.” 🤯 And if you didn’t listen, it snapped. Or worse, you had to walk yourself back to the wall and slowly untangle.

Somewhere along the way we stopped noticing the tension. We got real comfortable living stretched. Mentally 🧠. Emotionally ❤️‍🩹. Even 🙏 spiritually. Pulled thin in places we were never meant to stay that long.… sometimes the reason things feel so heavy is not because life is too much, it’s because we’ve chose to wrap ourselves around too many things at once.

I enjoy to reading the Bible early AM and found this gem 💎 …Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28. Feels less like a command… more like somebody gently sayin’, “You don’t have to carry all that by yourself.

I’m not saying throw everything out and disappear into the woods. 🌲Before we’re wrapped up so tight we don’t even know where the cord starts anymore. Because the goal was never to stretch yourself thin. It was just to connect.

HIT REPLY (Write Back!) ✍️ and tell me this… What’s one thing you grabbed onto… where the cord elongated like salt water tafffy 🍬 and were wrapped up deeper than you meant to go?

Doesn’t have to be deep. Just honest. I read them.

P.S. Thank you for hanging out with me this week. 🥰

🧠 Clubhouse Rule #4.5

( The only kind of rules that are actually FuN RuLeS! )

Not everything happens at the start.

Excessive cord stretching may result in dramatic life realizations. If you don’t know where the cord starts anymore… that’s your sign.

I’M THANKFUL YOU’RE HERE WITH ME →

🎬 Somethin’ I Made… 🎨

Alrighty now, quick question?? … when was the last time you tried something just for the fun of it and not because you had to be good at it? 😄

This vid of me out there target shootin’ with classical music playin’ like I’m in some kind of dramatic movie scene… and I realized real quick, it’s not about the 🎯 target, it’s about focus. Like real focus which I’m not the bestest at. The kind that quiets everything else down for a minute.

Your version might not be this… and that’s the whole point.

👉 HIT REPLY (Write Back!) ✍️ and tell me one thing you do (or used to do) that makes everything else go quiet for a minute.

Doesn’t have to be deep. Just honest. 💖

Watch closely. 👀 This may inspire your try something new decisions.
