📬 DEAR DIARY 📖 … From the Clubhouse ✍️
It’s Friday and I’m a wee bit winded 💨 from the warp 9 week. If only I didn’t have to sleep! 😜 I know, I know, you got to get some zzz’s. I was thinking, have you ever watched a rerun and thunk. I've seen this one. I know how this ends❓❓
That's what comparison does to you. You're sitting there watching somebody else's channel on your own TV 📺wondering why your life doesn't look like their highlight reel. My friend, that's not even your show.
Here's what I keep coming back to this week. ORIGINAL. Not original like "oh how original" said with a eye roll at something weird. Original like, first ☝️. Like there was no draft before you. Like God didn't look at somebody else and go "make me another one of those."
You obviously are not a rerun. You are not a knockoff sitting on the discount shelf at Big Lots next to the real thing. There is no off-brand version of you because the factory only ever made one. I’m guessing you probably forgot or maybe you just take for granted your uniqueness because we tend to compare ourselves to others wayyyyy to much. Can be a bit depressing and discouraging. 😕
I spent a good chunk of my life trying to be a more perfect, quieter and more reasonable version of myself. Toned down. Manageable. Easier for the room. Every single time something in me went "No ma'am. That's not the one."
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:10)
His workmanship. Not his rough draft. Not his placeholder. His actual work. Think about it 🤔 what is one thing I didn’t know about you that you feel is different?? or two, or three things?
Pull up a chair. You're exactly who was supposed to walk through that door.
